The Media and Tourism Research Center welcomed Dr. Lara Pucci from the University of Nottingham for a research seminar titled "Postcards from the Past: Fascist Site-seeing in Post-war Italy".
In her lecture, Dr. Pucci focused on the circulation of postcards sent after the end of World War II. She first analyzed buildings constructed during the fascist era from an art historical perspective and then explained how their widespread distribution as postcards contributed to their normalization.
For the participants, the seminar provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the relationship between visual media generated through tourism, war, and fascist ideology, making for a highly meaningful and thought-provoking session.
